This is a helpful estimate, not a quote. Your real bill depends on your plan, your doctors and how the birth goes. It's always worth a quick call to your insurance before your due date.

How we figure out your estimate

  1. The hospital price: what your insurance company has agreed to pay the hospital you picked, for your stay and your baby's. If your insurer isn't listed there, we use the typical price across all insurance plans at that hospital.
  2. Doctor prices: typical Dallas–Fort Worth prices for your OB, anesthesia and your baby's pediatrician visits.
  3. Your plan: we apply your deductible, then your coinsurance, and stop at your out-of-pocket max. Your baby counts as a second person on your plan.
This estimate is a planning tool, not a quote. It doesn't include prenatal tests and ultrasounds, NICU care, or bills from out-of-network doctors. Before your due date, ask the hospital which anesthesia and pediatric groups it uses, and check that they're in your network.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is this estimate?

It uses the real prices hospitals have agreed on with each insurance company, plus typical doctor prices. Your actual bill can differ if there are complications, if a doctor is out of network, or if your plan has special pregnancy rules. Use it to plan, not as a final quote.

Where do I find my deductible and out-of-pocket max?

On your insurance card, in your insurance app or on your plan's benefits summary. Use the in-network numbers.

Why should I include my baby?

Your baby is a patient too. Their hospital stay and pediatrician visits are billed on their own, and many family plans give your baby a separate deductible.
